Prior to joining IHI, Ms. Bisognano was senior vice president of The Juran Institute, where she consulted with senior management on the implementation of total quality management in healthcare settings.

Paul E. Plsek is an internationally recognized consultant on improvement and innovation. His clients include The Mayo Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, and the National Health Service in Britain. Before starting his own firm, he led engineering teams in Bell Labs and was director of corporate quality planning at AT&T. Mr. Plsek is the author of three books as well as dozens of journal articles and book chapters.
