With this resource, you can make the right selection from CPT to ICD-9-CM and HCPCS Level II codes. Simplify and speed coding with the one-stop, cross-coding resources developed for those who work for physicians, hospitals or payers. These easy-to-use manuals provide essential links from CPT codes to the appropriate ICD-9-CM and HCPCS Level II codes along with corresponding, clarifying illustrations. The Cross Coders are sure to help you code it right––the first time!

Designed to simplify code selection for your specialty as billed to Medicare and third-party payers, the Cross Coder links CPT codes to the appropriate ICD-9-CM and HCPCS Level II codes in one comprehensive, illustrated resource. View sample pages here of a previous edition.

  • Locate essential code information without delay. Procedure and diagnosis code information for your services is organized by CPT code.

  • Identify anatomical sites and procedure specifics. Intricate, detailed illustrations are included.

  • Spend less time correcting erroneous claims. Complete CPT, ICD-9-CM and HCPCS Level II code descriptions provide clear code explanations and guidance before claim submission.

  • Recognize when primary/secondary codes are required. ICD-9-CM code icons indicate when additional codes are needed and if the code selected is appropriate for the gender of the patient.

  • Ideal for quick reference. Solve problematic coding concerns with the help of the glossary or the appendix.

  • Earn CEUs from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). Secure up to 1 CEUs awarded by the AAPC for each scenario.

Please remember that the government no longer allows a grace period for annual code sets. The new HIPAA Transaction and Code Set Rule requires providers to use national medical code sets that are valid at the time that a service is provided. ICD-9-CM code revisions become effective October 1st each year while CPT and HCPCS code revisions become effective January 1st. In order for you to meet this requirement, you must have the revised CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9-CM codes in your possession before the implementation dates. The best way to do this is to order your code books early. Review current coding resources.
