Dale J. Block, MD, CPE, has been a licensed, practicing physician for 17 years. Board certified in Family Practice and Medical Management, Dr. Block has achieved success in private practice, academia, corporate medicine, and in the health insurance industry. As the President of Block Medical Consulting, PC, Dr. Block provides expert medical consultation in a number of health care related areas to empower employees, employers, providers, payers, and other health care professionals to succeed in their ability to navigate through the dynamic world of health care delivery today and in the future.

Dr. Block is currently practicing clinical medicine with Greentree Medical Associates, a multidisciplinary Primary Care medical practice affiliated with the West Penn Allegheny Health System. He has a full-time Family Practice and serves as the lead administrative physician for his group. He is also one of three physicians that represent 160 physicians on the Board of Directors for Allegheny Medical Practice Network, a primary care specialty network of West Penn Allegheny Health System. He also chairs the medical informatics subcommittee responsible for the implementation of an electronic medical record for all outpatient medical practices in the health system. As Adjunct Assistant Professor in Duquesne University’s Department of Health Systems Management, Dr. Block currently teaches undergraduate and graduate students in Health Management Systems. He has the taught the following courses during his tenure on the faculty: Quality Assurance/ Performance Improvement, Medical Informatics, Outcomes Management, Practice Management, and Clinical Processes. His research interests include preventive health care delivery, demand management, and disability management. Dr Block, his wife Ellen and his 3 sons are residents of Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania.
