“Health Insurance is both timely and important. What makes this book truly exceptional is Dr. Morrisey's thorough and clear examination of the most up-to-date health services research. Without a doubt, this is an indispensable book for any student or teacher of health economics.” —David Dranove, PhD, Professor of Health Industry Management, Northwestern University

"Dr. Morrisey demystifies the intricacies of the American health insurance market by explaining how human behavior and market forces influence everything from coverage options to co-payments. Through easy-to-understand explanations and examples, Morrisey provides information with the same humility-laced expertise he uses in the classroom. The straightforward chapter on compensating differentials clarifies an aspect of insurance theory that frequently confuses students. This book is a must read for any consumer, student, or professional interested in better understanding health insurance and managed care." —Nir Menachemi, PhD, Associate Professor in Family Medicine and Rural Health and Director for the Center on Patient Safety, Florida State University College of Medicine
