MGMA In-House Recruitment Benchmarking Survey
Medical Group Management Association

Please note: When purchasing MGMA annual surveys, please pay attention to the publication dates. MGMA normally collects data from one year, names the survey for the following year, and publishes the data midway through, or at the end of the third year. Therefore, for example, a 2010 survey, based on 2008 data, but published in early 2011 will be useable throughout 2012, a 2011 survey with 2009 data published in early 2012 will be useable through 2013, and so on. The following surveys are the most current surveys available at this time.

Improve in-house recruitment performance and processes with accurate benchmarking.

Recent studies point to continued major physician shortages through 2020. That means in-house physician recruiters will face a highly competitive environment in their efforts to recruit and retain the best. In-house physician recruiters must have the data to compare their processes, time frames, and compensation against their peers.

MGMA’s In-House Recruitment Benchmarking Survey Report is tailored to provide in-house physician recruiters with the real-world information they need. It provides a realistic guide for determining the time and cost of recruitment and enables comparison of recruitment performance and processes.

Use this survey to:

  • Develop benchmarks for the time to fill vacant provider positions and the total cost of provider searches by specialty via staff physician recruiter data

  • Access data specific to your population category, geographic section, or practice ownership type

  • Compare your recruitment department’s compensation and benefits

Everything you need is inside:

  • Data on more than 4,500 active provider searches by specialty, broken out by demographic classification, geographic section, sourcing type, and practice ownership

  • Organizational data on annual turnover rates and the percentage of provider offers extended and accepted

  • Compensation and incentive data on more than 300 in-house recruitment department positions that provide a snapshot of recruitment department position titles across the nation

  • Demographics at the organizational and recruitment department levels

The MGMA been the source of indispensable benchmarking resources for more than 50 years, and medical group administrators, physicians, hospital executives, CPAs, consultants and lawyers depend on the information and insight they deliver. MGMA, founded in 1926, is the nation’s principal voice for medical group practice. MGMA’s 19,000 members manage and lead more than 11,500 organizations in which more than 237,000 physicians practice. MGMA’s core purpose is to improve the effectiveness of medical group practices and the knowledge and skills of the individuals who manage and lead them. MGMA headquarters are in Englewood, Colorado.

Year after year, the nation's top practice managers rely on MGMA for data to make critical decisions.
