Gain deeper insight into the Resource-Based Relative Value Scale (RBRVS) and understand how medical procedures are evaluated within the Medicare Physician Payment Schedule with the new RBRVS Data Manager.

The RBRVS Data Manager provides access to proprietary information related to the assignment of the relative value units, provides a rationale for each code valuation, explains the relativity between these codes and much more. This set gives you two tools:

  • Performs calculations for your local private payor payment using conversion factors you input
  • CPT codes plus the short and full descriptions
  • 2,600 clinical examples,
    • descriptions of the physician service,
    • relative values,
    • payment policy information and
    • local Medicare payment information
  • Practice expense inputs (clinical staff, medical supplies and medical equipment) included for every CPT code
  • Ten years of Medicare utilization data for each CPT code, including
    • the specialties that perform the service,
    • site-of-service,
    • diagnosis and patient demographics
  • Physician time data for each individual physician service
  • AMA/Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) rationale for work value recommendations to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

Recommended by the American Medical Association, this CD-ROM empowers you. It performs calculations based on your own conversion factor against the RBRVS. Add unlimited conversion factors, and fees will be calculated based on locally adjusted and unadjusted relative value units (RVUs).

Please remember: The government no longer allows a grace period for annual code sets. The new HIPAA Transaction and Code Set Rule requires providers to use national medical code sets that are valid at the time that a service is provided. ICD-9-CM code revisions become effective October 1st each year while CPT and HCPCS code revisions become effective January 1st. In order for you to meet this requirement, you must have the revised CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9-CM codes in your possession before the implementation dates. The best way to do this is to order your code books early. Review current coding resources.
