Robert V. Higgins, MD, is the vice chair of academic affairs in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, and serves as the residency program director in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Carolinas Medical Center. He previously was the clerkship director and associate program director in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Involved with medical education for more than 21 years, Dr. Higgins has received numerous teaching awards including the outstanding faculty award given by the medical students from the University of Kentucky and the University of North Carolina. He has been awarded the Association of Professors Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) Teaching Award and the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) National Faculty Award.
