Coding Exam Review 2008 Edition
In an easy-to-follow, general outline format, this review focuses
on passing the CPC-H coding certification exam. It includes all the content information for the exam AND two full
practice exams with answers and rationales. Using a general outline
format, the text covers Anatomy, Terminology, and Pathophysiology
for each body area, Reimbursement Issues, and an overview of CPT,
ICD-9-CM, and HCPCS Coding. It also includes a bound-in CD-ROM with
a practice pre-text exam modeled after the actual AAPC CPC-H
certification exam along with final exam. The companion CD-ROM allows users to track their
learning through Pre- and Post-test, practice exam to give
students more practice with the electronic format, especially
now that actual CPC-H exam is administered via computer. A basic outline format provides figures for reference
as needed, making the text easy to use and understand. Modeled after the AAPC (CPC-H) exam and includes
essential content required to pass the exam. CD-ROM also contains Final Exam modeled after the actual
AAPC CPC-H certification exam. The accompanying CD-ROM contains a timed, scored,
practice exam that is modeled on the actual certification exams and
is designed to be taken twice — once as a pre-test and once as a
post-test. An additional final exam is given as a capstone to the

government no longer allows a grace period for annual code sets.
The new HIPAA
Transaction and Code Set Rule requires providers to use national
medical code sets that are valid at the time that a service is
provided. ICD-9-CM code revisions become effective October 1st each
year while CPT and HCPCS code revisions become effective January
1st. In order for you to meet this requirement, you must have the
revised CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9-CM codes in your possession before the
implementation dates. The best way to do this is to order your code
books early.
