Credentialing and privileging responsibilities seem to grow and change constantly. Are you keeping up?

In today’s safety- and quality-minded healthcare environment, credentialing and privileging processes continue to expand in complexity and importance. If sound credentialing and privileging practices are lacking, your entire organization is at risk for compromised patient care, negligent credentialing lawsuits, and regulatory violations.

As a credentialing professional, your charge is to stay on top of regulatory changes and emerging best practices through training and education. This ensures quality patient care and compliance with rules, regulations, and other standards.

The Credentialing Coordinator’s Handbook is an everyday credentialing resource for both veteran MSPs and newcomers. This easy-to-reference guide provides:

  • Strategies to meet Joint Commission standards

  • Fundamental concepts for those new to the field

  • Credentialing self-assessment tools to gauge your own effectiveness

  • Tools and tips for day-to-day credentialing tasks

  • Solutions to unique challenges, such as fast-track credentialing and disaster privileging

  • Ideas on how to avoid the legal pitfalls of negligent credentialing

Specifically created for ease of use, unlike other resource materials for credentialing and privileging, this book and CD-ROM set won’t overwhelm you with unnecessary information. Instead, it provides a comprehensive yet quick reference for MSPs tasked with credentialing and privileging.

Designed to address your daily challenges - addressing the challenges and responsibilities you encounter daily, The Credentialing Coordinator’s Handbook offers tools designed to immediately and positively affect your medical staff office operations.

Please remember that the government no longer allows a grace period for annual code sets. The new HIPAA Transaction and Code Set Rule requires providers to use national medical code sets that are valid at the time that a service is provided. ICD-9-CM code revisions become effective October 1st each year while CPT and HCPCS code revisions become effective January 1st. In order for you to meet this requirement, you must have the revised CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9-CM codes in your possession before the implementation dates. The best way to do this is to order your code books early. Review current coding resources.
