H&HN's Most Wired Magazine is a quarterly magazine that uses case studies to identify how actual information technology practices help solve strategic problems. It is the first magazine devoted to providing actual data and real-world strategic solutions.

H&HN's Most Wired Magazine is the official magazine of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). It is not necessary to be a member of AHA or CHIME in order to subscribe to this publication and benefit from this tremendous expertise.

Published by the American Hospital Association, H&HN's Most Wired Magazine mines the exclusive database of Hospitals & Health Networks annual Most Wired survey of hospitals and health systems to identify the best information technology practices in the industry.

Each issue probes the working relationships between the CEO, CIO and senior management IT team as they use Internet, intranet and information technologies to further business goals.

This magazine is a vehicle where senior managers share the details of what they did and how they did it to help their peers achieve significant returns on investment promised by IT.

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives was formed with the dual objective of serving the professional development needs of healthcare CIOs, and advocating the more effective use of information management within healthcare. The need for an organization like CHIME had become apparent to leaders of the HIMSS and CHIM organizations during their strategic planning sessions in 1991. A special task force was formed to develop initiatives that would respond to this need, and from those planning efforts sprang the CHIME concept. The idea gained immediate support from the HIMSS and CHIM organizations, and planning efforts moved swiftly forward to launch the new organization in 1992. Thanks to a very warm reception from the healthcare industry, CHIME's first 10 years have yielded a number of significant accomplishments. CHIME's leadership is determined to build upon its early successes and nurture the organization such that it maintains its recognized billing as the premier organization for healthcare CIOs. CHIME has made significant progress in growing its membership and expanding the programs and services it offers to its members.

The publisher, the American Hospital Association (AHA), is the national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. Close to 5,000 hospitals, health care systems, networks, other providers of care and 37,000 individual members come together to form the AHA. Through our representation and advocacy activities, AHA ensures that members' perspectives and needs are heard and addressed in national health policy development, legislative and regulatory debates, and judicial matters. Our advocacy efforts include the legislative and executive branches and include the legislative and regulatory arenas. Founded in 1898, the AHA provides education for health care leaders and is a source of information on health care issues and trends.
