Provide acquisition management, start-up and turn-around for hospitals. Also provide staffing consulting, including executive search, interim management, salary and competitive research. Organized and served as President of a new physician hospital organization (PHO) for collaboration, contracting & capitation purposes. Successful turnaround of Bayview Hospital, increasing Bayview annual net income from $200,000 to $1,300,000 through strategic reorganization of priority internal systems & focused marketing. Increased Bayview monthly admits from 65 to 140, maintained low EEOB & strengthened teamwork. Improved employee morale, quality of care. Designed 36-bed campus expansion & 8 new rural satellite centers. At Southside Hospital, improved care, community relations & profitability with unit within separate acute hospital netting $1,000,000, comprising 75% of Southside annual pre-tax profit. Created specialized MIS system, implemented triage centers & recruited doctors. Secured new public & private payer contracts. Developed strong, positive community reputation. In 1991, parent company spun this hospital into a separate company & the newly formed group filed chapter 11, thus leading to my willingness to be recruited from this post by Tenet Healthcare Corporation, a previous employer. Created new mental health PPO, including successful sale of complete packaged plan to major employer, including 80,000 self-insured covered lives, gross annual mental health expenditure of 20 million dollars. Prepare necessary fiscal & budget structures and market & feasibility analyses. Direct, plan & coordinate negotiations and systems design. Conceptualized & created innovative triage centers & UR systems. Responsible for real estate negotiations, physician & provider selection and network development. Provide support to employer in benefits structure and union negotiations & management buy-in. Completed development of new behavioral health point-of-service plan.
